Oh yeah.
When you’re feeling fancy, but don’t want to drag yourself out for the full steakhouse experience, this is your meal. Birthday dinner? Check. Cooking at home for the third date? Check. Wednesday night alone? Sure, why not! Plus, you know everything that goes into it. And I can tell you what comes out of it: pure decadent yum.
And chances are, no matter what veg you choose to adorn the plate, the sauce will taste good on it too.
Surf & Turf w/ Lemon-Horseradish Butter
4 steaks of choice (we had ribeyes)
1-1 1/2 lbs. large shrimp, peeled and deveined
salt and fresh ground pepper
1 stick pastured butter
Juice and zest of 1 lemon
3 Tbsp. horseradish
1 clove garlic, minced
1) Salt and pepper both sides of steak and shrimp, set aside.
2) Melt butter in a saucepan or skillet. Add rest of ingredients (lemon through garlic) and stir. Turn heat off.
3) Cook or grill steaks and shrimp. If grilling, put shrimp on when you flip the steaks and grill for about 2 minutes per side. Or if cooking in a pan on stovetop, sear shrimp quickly after steaks are out of the pan, 2-3 minutes per side.
4) Reheat butter if needed and pour over steak and shrimp.
Serves 4.
