It’s July 4th, a holiday here in the States, so I’m taking it easy blog-wise. We have a big day ahead: Parade at 10am, then walk downtown to the park for all the booths and food, to a friend’s house for a BBQ at 1pm, naptime for our daughter (and likely Mom and Dad, too!) from 2-4, then off to another BBQ at 4pm. But I’ll be back on schedule tomorrow with posts.
In the meantime, here are some holiday ideas in case you haven’t figured out what you’re doing yet.
- Here is a collection of some of my go-to entertaining ideas sure to please Paleos and SADers alike.
- For the grill: Tex-Mex Grilled Chicken, Lamburgers w/Greek Sauce, Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp Skewers, Garlic-Rosemary Lamb Chops, Grilled Ribeyes and Asparagus, Bacon Cheddar Avocado Burgers.
- For dessert, you could make my Primal Frangipane Tart, topped with blueberries and some sort of red berries for maximum patriotude. Or try Civilized Caveman’s Blueberry Upside-Down Cake. I made it recently with mostly blueberries and some logan and strawberries, and the red-white-blue effect was certainly festive. Coconut milk, Greek yogurt, or fresh whipped cream would make lovely additions to these desserts.
