Wow, and I thought I was committed to my diet.
Apparently, Mark Zuckerberg’s challenge to himself this year is to eat only meat that he himself has killed:
I started thinking about this last year when I had a pig roast at my house. A bunch of people told me that even though they loved eating pork, they really didn’t want to think about the fact that the pig used to be alive. That just seemed irresponsible to me. I don’t have an issue with anything people choose to eat, but I do think they should take responsibility and be thankful for what they eat rather than trying to ignore where it came from.
True that. And, as much respect as I have for hunting, this is like taking a knife to a goat’s throat, not shooting a deer from a distance. This is serious.
There’s a ranch locally that allows you to come and kill your own chicken, and I’ve been thinking about taking them up on the offer for the same reasons Zuckerberg cites here. Maybe it’s time.

I saw this too and was blown away. Much as celebrities adopting paleo-friendly food approaches has the potential to be detrimental (certain vapid reality TV stars come to mind), I think the Zuck is 100% serious and sincere about this, and trying it for his own self-awareness/edification – not doing it to seem cool or on-trend.
